Nature on your doorstep

Nature in our immediate vicinity - Multimedia presentation

			In a large city like Linz, you wouldn't expect to find nature on your doorstep. 
			However, thanks to Linz's favorable location (in the Danube basin), 
			there are many green spaces such as forests, meadows, floodplains, and 
			numerous parks within the city — nature is conquering all these habitats. 
			Within and adjacent to the city limits lie the Danube 
			and Traun floodplains, a very special habitat.
			“Nature” refers to all living creatures (birds, mammals, insects, etc.) 
			and the plant world. 

			By “on our doorstep,” we mean not only the immediate urban area, 
		        but also the wider surroundings up to a distance of approximately 35 km. 
		        We observe birds on the Danube, in the Danube and Traun floodplains, 
			in the forest on Pöstlingberg, and also in more distant wetlands. 
       		        All of these are visited and the diversity of the creatures found 
			in these areas is presented.

			However, the landscape is not neglected either. Impressive images 
            		of high fog, winter landscapes on Linz's local mountain, 
            		the Alps, and breathtaking cloud formations after sunset offer 
			opportunities to admire nature.

			This multimedia presentation not only shows pictures, but also uses 
			videos and audio recordings to bring you closer to life in nature 
            		and provide more information about the animal world. 
            		Experience nature (almost) up close.

			In einer Großstadt wie Linz würde man nicht erwarten, dass man vor der Haustür 
			auf Natur trifft. Jedoch durch die günstige Lage von Linz (im Donaubecken) 
			gibt es viele Grünflächen wie z.B. Wälder, Wiesen, Augebiete und auch 
			in der Stadt zahlreiche Parkanlagen - die Natur erobert all diese Lebensräume. 
			Innerhalb und auch angrenzend an das Stadtgebiet liegen die Donau- 
			und Traunauen, ein ganz besonderer Lebensraum.
			"Natur" bezeichnet alle Lebewesen (Vögel, Säugetiere, Insekten, etc.) 
			und die Pflanzenwelt. 
			Unter "vor der Haustüre" verstehen wir nicht nur das unmittelbare Stadtgebiet, 
			sondern auch die weitere Umgebung bis zu einer Entfernung von ca. 35km. 
			Dabei betrachten wir die Vögel an der Donau, in den Donau- und Traunauen, 
			im Wald am Pöstlingberg, und auch in weiterer entfernt liegenden Feuchtbiotopen. 
			All diese werden besucht und die Vielfalt der in diesen Gebieten vorkommenden 
			Lebewesen präsentiert.

			Die Landschaft jedoch kommt auch nicht zu kurz. Beeindruckende Aufnahmen 
			über den Hochnebel, über Winterlandschaften auf dem Hausberg von Linz, 
			die Alpenkette und auch atemberaubende Wolkenformationen nach dem 
			Sonnenuntergang bieten Gelegenheit um die Natur zu bewundern.
			In diesem Multimediavortrag werden nicht nur Bilder gezeigt, sondern 
			auch durch Videos und Tonaufnahmen das Leben in der Natur näher gebracht 
			und mehr Informationen über die Tierwelt vermittelt. 
			Natur (beinahe) hautnah miterlebt.
